About Designhand

Designhand was formed in late 2005 by David Partis after 20 years experience in the computer industry.

David had spent the last 15 years in management roles, 11 of which were at Hewlett Packard in Auckland and David was starting to question the future of working for a big corporate company and wondering where he would be in 10 years time.

Davids background was electronics, television and computers and after having a small website built for a holiday house in the Ruapehu by a friend, David started tinkering with the site and starting to develop initially an interest as a new found hobby; later in to a passion for web design.

Designhand now offer a portfolio of services that cater for general small businesses and specialise in small to medium business websites, including e-Commerce websites and associated services.

The philosophy of Designhand is to create simple, clear and fast loading websites using up to date design techniques. Through our partner company Website Optimisers we offer a full range of SEO and Adwords services.

David now resides in Cambridge, New Zealand and returns to Auckland, Ruapehu and Melbourne regularly for customers and family. David also delivers training courses through Community Education at Rutherford College and Selwyn College as well as a venue in Melbourne with Web Training Courses.

MEET OUR TEAM

Scott Partis

Web Developer

Scott has completed his bachelors degree majoring in Finance and Property Management. He started off helping his father David with smaller web projects as a hobby but is constantly developing his skills becoming a valuable web developer for Designhand.

Scott has always been interested in computers and how things work, he will pay great attention to the ‘little touches’ that will add value to your website.

Scott and Tamsin have both gone on to form their own web business called Blended Design. Blended Design now contracts to Designhand for larger web projects.

Tamsin-Lee Harley

Graphic Designer

Tamsin has completed her bachelors degree in Architecture. She has a strong background with all things visual, having experience in computer design programmes such as Photoshop and Illustrator, and a great deal of passion and knowledge with photography.

Tamsin also has an eye for the design of websites and also strong skills in building of WordPress websites.

Tamsin and Scott have both gone on to form their own web business called Blended Design. Blended Design now contracts to Designhand for larger web projects.

James Gatward

Web Developer

After completing a Marketing degree James was a bit puzzled what career to embark on.

James attended one of David’s courses back in 2012 and thoroughly loved web design and from that day on became hooked on web development. James has since started his own business Urban Digital Co with presence in Auckland and Melbourne.

James also works with David to run some of the training courses in Auckland from time to time.
